- Conduct screening of students involved in MTSS
- Conduct initial evaluations within state and federal compliance timelines, and assist in determining eligibility for special educations services
- Conduct re-evaluations of students currently enrolled in special education programs, as deemed appropriate by case conference decision or requested by parent or school personnel within state and federal compliance timelines
- Conduct evaluations at the request of the Director of Exceptional Learners including evaluations of homeschooled students and private school students
- Obtain release for information and request information. Communicate with community agencies, hospitals, doctors, etc. to obtain background and/or current information, as needed
- Prepare a written report for each student tested with reason for referral, social and developmental history, psycho-educational test results, data interpretation, summary and recommendations. Reports should be completed and provided to parents, if requested, at least five (5) days prior to the case conference. Assessments results may be shared with school personnel for pre planning purposes. Copies of the report will be provided for the case conference committee
- Oversee 504 placements, evaluation, and follow up
- Participate as an active member of the case conference committee and the multi-disciplinary team. Present and interpret both internal and external (if applicable) testing data to parents and school personnel. Propose recommendations to the multi-disciplinary committee and report as appropriate at the case conference meetings.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and follow up of individual education plans (IEP) for students
- Support and assist parents in understanding educational, emotional and social needs of their child in regards to his/her disability and school services related to that disability and individual needs
- Participate in annual case reviews and transition plan development as needed
- Assume all other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate as assigned by the Building Administrator or Director of Exceptional Learners

Description:
The School Psychologist will conduct psycho-educational evaluations in compliance with federal and state law, for those students referred.
Actively collaborate with educators, administrators, families and other health professionals in addressing the needs of all students and creating a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for all students and strengthen connections between home and school.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree or Higher
School Psychologist license
Understanding and commitment to urban education and communities
Strong technological skills
Strong communication skills with various audiences (parents/guardians, students, teachers, administrators)
Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skill
Basic Functions and Responsibilities:
