Description
Job Summary:
The Project Director is responsible to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the project. This position develops, interprets, and administers policies and procedures governing the project, and administers appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection, and retention of staff. This management-level position oversees the delivery of services, ensures contract compliance with Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) policies, procedures and fiscal regulations pertaining to the California Violence Intervention (CalVIP) Project. This position acts as the operations manager over all CalVIP project staff. Is the primary point of contact for BSCC and External Evaluation staff.
Essential Duties:
Ensures compliance with the contract and BSCC policy expectations of contract employees;
Oversees the implementation and timely reporting for all data collection systems;
Ensures timely responses to BSCC requests for statistics, reports and data;
Develops quality control procedures to ensure high-quality service;
Ensures the provision of client-centered services that are aligned with contract objectives;
Responsible for overall supervision and oversight of all contr act staff to ensure service delivery meets organizational standards and contractual obligations;
Possesses strong working knowledge of programmatic process, including evaluation design and data collection;
Monitors the casework of project staff;
Addresses the operational needs associated with CalVIP project;
Provides in-service training and on the job training for new staff, as needed;
Implements appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection, training, and retention of staff;
Responsible for fiscal monitoring of expenditures;
Ensures contract staff compliance with BSCC policies and procedures; and
Works collaboratively with BSCC, Evaluation team, and community partners.
Education and Experience:
Required:
Five (5) years of employment services supervisory experience with criminal justice-involved populations; OR
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or other related field AND three (3) years of documented experience of operational responsibility in an employment services setting.
Preferred:
Lived Experience (formerly incarcerated or justice involved) with demonstrated ability to live productive and law-abiding lives considered an asset for this position.
Continuing Education/Training:
Within specified contract timeframes, personnel file shall document evidence of participation in the following trainings:

Highly competent in organizational leadership and contract compliance;
Ability to integrate, disseminate, and implement requirements, reporting timeframes and/or procedure changes as indicated by BSCC;
Ability to effectively supervise and train a multi-disciplinary team; and,
Excellent interpersonal, written communications and typing skills.
Work Environment:
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
Ability to travel as needed.
