The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Rostock, in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT), is seeking to fill the following position at the earliest possible date, subject to budgetary regulations:

W3 Professorship in "Applied Catalysis"

The future research of the appointed person should focus on applied catalysis and have one of the following areas of expertise:

  • Applied homogeneous catalysis
  • Applied photocatalysis
  • Reaction engineering of relevant catalytic reactions


The person should have already led cooperation projects with private companies in one of the above-mentioned research areas and have extensive experience in acquiring public third-party funding.

They should have gained international recognition through innovative research projects and have a track record of relevant scientific publications.

The position includes taking over and being responsible for a research area with existing staff and infrastructure at LIKAT.

The willingness to engage in intensive interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation with established research areas within the LIKAT's fields of interest, as well as active participation in interdisciplinary research networks, is expected.
