    The Department currently has an opening for one permanent full-time Deputy Chief 6- Deputy Director within the Administration section of ODVA in Salem, Oregon.


    A member of the Executive Team, the Deputy Director is a strong, experienced leader who possesses compassion, the ability to empower others, and is driven by the program's mission.

    The Deputy Director position has shared strategic and operational responsibility for planning, developing, implementing, and supervising all activities and programs within ODVA.

    Remote Work:

    OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    No less than:
    Eight years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation

    and d) budget preparation.


    A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills may be substituted for three years of required experience.


    REQUESTED SKILLS:


    In addition to your related work experience and education, we will use the requested skills below to determine whom to interview.


    • Honorably discharged veteran as defined in ORS
    • 3 years of executive management experience managing management level employees.
    • Proven executive leader driving development, implementation, and integration of best practices, and resource allocation focused on engaging, inspiring, and uplifting diverse people, businesses and community.
    • Successful interpersonal leadership and management skills, including a management style that encourages open communication, participation, and trust and management development.
    • Experience developing and promoting stakeholder partnership and engagement.
    • 3-5 years of work experience focusing on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) program development and implementation.
    • Responsible for the leadership and management of a $300+M budget.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    As a condition of employment, the person in this position must:


    • Due to the fiduciary responsibilities the employee must successfully pass a credit check revealing no history of bankruptcy filing.
    • Successfully pass a criminal history background check and fingerprint based criminal history background check through the Oregon (LEDS) and (NCIC) systems and driving record check through the DMV system.
