- Assist with clients' estate settlement process, trust and estate administration, and related settlement and trust accountings.
- Assist with preparing clients' federal estate, state inheritance, federal gift, and federal and state fiduciary income tax returns, and related accountings.
- Assist with occasional tax research projects.
- Paralegal certificate, a 4-year degree and/or equivalent Paralegal experience.
- 3+ years of estate planning/tax experience in a law firm, trust department, or accounting firm required.
- In-depth understanding of estate tax, fiduciary tax, gift tax and estate administration.
- Familiarity with trust and estate accountings.
- Familiarity with probate and administration proceedings and procedures.
- Experience working with high net-worth clients preferred.
- High degree of initiative, attention to detail and organization in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
- Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external clients on all levels.
- Proven analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with systems and programs for tax return preparation, document management, and legal research, including MS Outlook/Word/Excel.
