    JOB SUMMARY

    The Senior Manager, Data Governance is responsible for leading and managing the data governance team in the execution and operational oversight of Baylor Scott & White's enterprise-wide data governance program. This role ensures that data is managed as a strategic asset, promoting data quality, integrity, security, and compliance across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Manage and lead the data governance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to team members.

    2. Implement and operationalize the data governance strategy, policies, standards, and processes (established by the Director of Data Governance.)

    3. Collaborate with business units, IT, and other stakeholders through cross-functional initiatives to identify data governance requirements, reinforce data ownership, and support data stewardship roles and responsibilities.

    4. Oversee the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive data glossary, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories to ensure consistent data definitions and usage across the organization.

    5. Assist in developing data quality management framework - Monitor data quality metrics, identify issues, and coordinate remediation efforts to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

    6. Oversee development and delivery of data governance training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven culture within the organization.

    7. Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and technologies to support efficient data management processes.

    8. Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and analysts to align data governance initiatives with data architecture and analytics strategies.

    9. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the data governance program, identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes to the Director of Data Governance.

    10. Manage the data governance team's resource allocation, and project prioritization.

    11. Oversee the implementation and governance of Epic Cogito and other enterprise data platforms, ensuring data quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.

    12. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the organization's enterprise-wide master data management (MDM) program, ensuring the integrity, consistency, and governance of critical master data domains across the healthcare ecosystem.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

    2. EXPERIENCE - 7 Years of Experience

    3. Strong understanding of data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices.

    4. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

    5. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

    6. Knowledge of data privacy regulations, such as HIPAA, and data security practices.

    7. Familiarity with data architecture, data modeling, and analytics practices.

    8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

    9. Proven experience in managing and leading teams, including performance management, coaching, and mentoring.

    10. Excellent project management, and resource allocation skills.

    12. Certification in data governance, data management, or related disciplines (e.g., CDMP) is preferred.

    13. Certification in Project Management (PMP, SAFe) is preferred.

    14. Experience with Epic Cogito is highly desirable.

    15. Experience and knowledge of change management principles.

    16. Proven expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive master data management (MDM) strategies, frameworks, and governance models within complex healthcare organizations or similarly regulated industries.
