We are seeking an experienced Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our company's efforts in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risks, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Responsiblities
Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Partner with cross-functional teams to assess EHS risks associated with new projects, processes, and initiatives, providing recommendations for risk mitigation and control measures.
Lead incident investigation processes to determine root causes of accidents, injuries, and near misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Provide EHS training and education to employees at all levels of the organization, including new hire orientation, ongoing safety training, and specialized training for high-risk activities.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory compliance documentation.Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries, submitting reports, and facilitating inspections as needed.
Stay current on emerging EHS regulations, trends, and best practices, and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders within the organization.Collaborate with management to establish EHS performance metrics and goals, and track progress towards achieving objectives.
Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability by promoting employee engagement, participation in safety committees, and recognition of safety achievements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
Proven track record of developing and implementing effective EHS programs and initiatives, with a focus on injury prevention and risk reduction.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience conducting EHS training and education programs for diverse audiences, including frontline employees, supervisors, and executives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software applications for data management and reporting.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
