Job Purpose:

Working autonomously, the **Safety Manager** collaborates with management, supervisors, and staff to establish protocols safeguarding company assets and ensuring employee well-being.

This includes implementing processes for reporting hazards, conducting accident investigations, and enforcing safety regulations. The role involves managing safety committees, organizing safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with state and federal safety standards.

The safety coordinator oversees working conditions to guarantee adherence to safety regulations, maintains safe workspaces and equipment, and conducts safety training.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform accident investigations to identify causes and prevent future incidents.
  • Provide safety training on topics such as fire prevention, fire protection, and hazardous materials communication.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify workplace hazards.
  • Assist in plant 5S and safety inspections.
  • Maintain stocked first aid kits and accessible fire extinguishers.
  • Act as a liaison for medical appointments and reports.
  • Procure workplace safety gear and supplies.
  • Develop and update the company's safety handbook.
  • Maintain OSHA injury and illness logs.
  • Manage safety-related documents and reports.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and illness exposure.
  • Establish a system for reporting and investigating near-miss incidents.
  • Handle employee inquiries, suggestions, and complaints.
  • Track and assist with Forklift Operator certifications.
  • Oversee company vehicle checkouts and driver compliance.
  • Manage the employer pull notice program.
Perform all tasks safely in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health/Safety or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of safety experience required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or processing industry preferred.
  • Proficient in state and federal safety guidelines.
  • Adept at interpreting legal and OSHA documents.
  • Familiarity with job site machinery and products.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be necessary.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, Korean language skills are advantageous.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficient in personal computer and Microsoft Office software.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Bilingual Proficiency: English & Spanish (Korean a plus)
