Duties:


  • At the full performance level you will: Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
  • Exercise search and arrest authority, detain witnesses, apprehend suspects, interview witnesses and other persons involved, determine whether facts warrant apprehension or lesser action.
  • Collect and preserve evidence. Conduct long and shortterm investigations on criminal cases and analyze facts to identify suspects and develop case information for use in pressing charges and bringing suspect to trial.
  • Appear in court to testify as required in Military Court Martials or Federal and State Court proceedings. Provide sworn testimony based on the investigative process, evidence gathered, witness' statements in criminal and traffic courts.
  • Conduct traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
  • Apprehend violators as required by applicable laws or regulations.
  • Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts.
  • Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a preemployment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

  • This position will require the incumbent to pass the primary physical fitness/agility test (PAT) within 30 days of employment and an annual one thereafter.
  • This position requires certification in the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) in accordance with Army Regulation
  • This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be proficient in the use of assigned firearms.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate an Emergency Vehicle when patrolling and must successfully complete the Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course.
  • At the GS07 level: This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete a Police Officer Field Training Program within 6 months upon initial assignment to law enforcement duties and maintain certification thereafter.
