We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Facility Manager to lead our team at Bark Boston As the Facility Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facility, while providing exceptional care for our furry guests and maintaining high standards of customer service.

This position requires someone who is organized, punctual, and professional, with a deep love for dogs and the ability to remain calm under pressure.


Responsibilities:


Staff Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of daycare attendants, dog walkers and support staff.
  • Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate important information, provide training updates, and foster a positive team environment.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff members, assisting them with daytoday tasks and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

Day-to-Day Operations:


  • Supervise the daytoday operations of the facility, which includes overseeing staff members during facility hours, ensuring adherence to the preplanned schedule, and completion of cleaning routines.

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility environment, including indoor play areas, outdoor yards, and the front retail area.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to support the operation of the facility.

Client Communication:


  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance regarding our services, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate important information to clients, such as updates on their dog's behavior or health, scheduling changes, and upcoming events or promotions.
  • Handle client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy, striving to exceed their expectations and maintain positive relationships.

Procedural Integrity:


  • Ensure that all staff members adhere to established procedures and protocols for the safety and wellbeing of the dogs in our care.
  • Monitor and enforce facility rules and regulations, addressing any violations or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, safety protocols, and licensing requirements.

Payroll Management:


  • Oversee payroll processing, including tracking staff hours, calculating wages, and ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Address payrollrelated inquiries from staff members and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

Performance Evaluations:


  • Conduct biannual performance evaluations with staff members, providing feedback on their performance, identifying areas for improvement, and setting goals for professional development.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a pet care or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Passion for dogs and a genuine love for working with animals.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, handling any unexpected challenges or emergencies with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including the ability to work weekends or evenings as required by the needs of the business.
