    Today the Magnolia Companies consist of Joseph J. Magnolia, Inc. and Magnolia Plumbing, Inc. and operate out of multiple locations, dispatching approximately 200 service and construction vehicles throughout the Washington and Baltimore Region.
    Job Summary
    The Accounting division of Magnolia Plumbing, Inc. is hiring an

    Accounting Manager

    to work out of our District of Columbia office.


    This individual will be oversee the output and accuracy for a combination of functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, job cost ledger, payroll and similar major functional units.


    Job Responsibilities (but not limited to):
    Daily maintenance of General Ledger accounts and preparing journal entries and other adjusting entries
    Oversee preparation of internal accounting and financial reports for leadership team, including month-end closing reports
    Able to operate as a business partner and support to cross functional teams
    Manage payroll clerk, providing assistance as needed
    Daily management and training for accounting team members
    Review of accounts payable/receivables and cash disbursements
    Review bank, cash receipts and other account reconciliations
    Support for annual tax and compliance filings
    A

    ssists in preparation of financial statements and budgets
    Be able to assist and backup all accounting positions as needed
    Performs other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
    Construction Accounting a PLUS
    Bachelor's degree or above in accounting or equivalent work experience
    5+ years of accounting experience
    Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
    Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other standard office applications
    Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
    Able to prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlines
    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    Experience with Data-Basics-Sampro software is a plus
