    Irvine, CA / Los Angeles, CA / Seattle, Washington / San Francisco, CATechnology & Development – Engineering /Full-time /HybridWHAT YOU'LL DOThe core metrics team is a new engineering team we are setting up in Viant.

    This team will own the metrics that are responsible for billable events that feed into reports, billing, and finance artifacts, and deal with data governance responsibilities including Accuracy, Auditability, Standardization, Compliance, Performance & Cost optimization etc.

    This team will handle petabytes of data using a variety of technologies and flowing through multiple systems.
    The Team Lead role is a dual intent role that involves hands-on contributions as well as team management responsibilities.

    As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for architecting and building core pieces of Viant's billable metrics handling strategy.

    You will acquire a deep technical understanding of how data flows through Viant's systems.

    You will serve as the technical lead working with a team of engineers to oversee the design and implementation of these interconnected services, ensuring that the system evolves to keep pace with the speed, scale and agility that modern day systems are expected to support.

    As a people manager, you will hire, mentor team members and ensure they progress in the careers at Viant, collaborate with stakeholders from other teams as necessary and perform other people manager responsibilities.

    The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in scalable distributed systems and architecture, with experience planning, managing, and executing a technical roadmap to develop and implement significant and innovative data-focused products that are critical to the ongoing success of Viant.

    MUST HAVE10+ years of professional experience in the software industry, including 2+ as a people manager and 5+ on data-focused projects.2+ years experience with Google Big Query.

    Must have high proficiency in SQL and extensive experience in Big Data technologies.

    GREAT TO HAVEBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related fieldSolid understanding of data structures and algorithmsKnowledge of relational databases like MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server.

    $180,000 - $220,000 a yearIn accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.

    Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
