    **Description**

    **Product and Pilot Line Introduction Video:**

    **Job Responsibilities:**

    Develop and maintain a value stream map for the pilot line process.

    Apply lean techniques to identify and eliminate waste.

    Learn to operate pilot line equipment, understand process parameters, and lead projects to stabilize process outputs.

    Work with maintenance engineers and technicians to improve preventive maintenance procedures, minimize equipment downtime, and improve product yields.

    Identify required spare parts for manufacturing equipment and optimize spare parts inventory.

    Suggest equipment modifications to increase machine efficiency reduce downtime and reduce changeover time.

    Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on pilot line equipment as issues arise.

    Establish initial conditions required for maintenance (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, de-energized)

    Work with the R&D and Quality engineers to address quality concerns and product performance.

    Assist in the installation and acceptance testing of new R&D equipment

    Work along side pilot line operators to improve safety, increase capacity, and ensure on time delivery of customer orders.

    Operate fab shop equipment, power tools, forklifts (training provided), and turn wrenches as required to implement process improvements and ensure equipment uptime.

    Document activities as appropriate - i.e. logbook, inspection walk throughs, etc.

    Handle glass as necessary to accomplish team objectives.

    Work in a cleanroom environment and handle materials as needed. This requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs on an occasional basis.

    Additional Projects as needed by CliC Plant Manager

    Drive a forklift and support the receiving area as needed.

    Position requires 100% onsite presence with standard business week work hours.

    Travel on an occasional basis to a supplier location or Cardinal production facility.

    **Desired Skills and Qualifications:**

    Electro-Mechanical Training

    + 4 Year Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial)

    Strong summer intern experience in a factory or production setting

    + or Military technical role with honorable discharge

    Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or similar lean certification

    Comfortable operating power tools and working on large equipment.

    Ability to use or learn software required for Value Stream Mapping, Preventive Maintenance, and Minitab statistical analysis.

    Ability to communicate complicated concepts and draft technical reports.

    Time management skills with the ability to plan and track multiple projects over months.

    Commitment to safety and an orderly workplace.

    Ability to work as part of a team, including all levels of coworkers

    Maintain professional appearance and conduct.

    Preference for spending time on the production floor vs sitting at a desk.

    Good sense of humor.

    Outspoken personality.
