Job Description

As a tool mechanic (m/f/d), you manufacture tools for production. You also produce metal and plastic parts. You process metals, for example, by drilling and milling, while accurately maintaining the dimensions specified by technical drawings. Using measuring and testing equipment, you check the dimensional accuracy of workpieces down to the range of a few thousandths of a millimeter. In addition to traditional manual processing methods, you also use CNC-controlled machine tools, which you sometimes program yourself. You also maintain and repair damaged tool parts.

Training Content:

  • Manufacturing of workpieces and components from various materials using manual and mechanical grinding or removal methods
  • Evaluation of technical documents
  • Assembly and disassembly of components and assemblies according to assembly plans
  • Inspection, maintenance, and repair of components and assemblies
  • Operation and programming of machine tools
