    Description

    University High School of Indiana seeks a Communications Coordinator for the academic year.

    The Communications Coordinator creates compelling content per established brand standards for various communications channels and audiences. This individual is an active member of the school's external relations team and collaborates with admissions, advancement, and alumni relations to support broader school goals and initiatives. Additionally, all faculty and staff at University High School, including the Communications Coordinator, serve as mentors to students in the school-wide mentoring program.

    The Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Communications, who is responsible for implementing the school's communication plan. This is a salaried, full-time, on-campus staff position that includes the school's full benefits package. Evening and weekend hours are required for specific events.

    Responsibilities:

    • General content creation
    • Write, lay out, and distribute the weekly school newsletter
    • Social media management
    • Write fundraising messages
    • Write and edit school email communications
    • Write and distribute press releases
    • Copyediting
    • Website maintenance
    • Graphic design support
    • Analytics reporting
    • Event support
    • Administrative support
    • Vendor management
    • Mentor students
    • Others as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Minimum of two years of similar experience required
    • Must be able to demonstrate strong writing skills through clear, concise, engaging communications across various media and audiences
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work well under tight deadlines
    • Experience with Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, email marketing, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, and analytics required
    • Experience with basic photography and video production for social media and other communications required
    • Interest in being an active member of the school community, attending school functions during evenings and weekends, participating in January Term classes, and serving as a mentor to students
    • Commitment to the school's core values of diversity, excellence, personal responsibility, stewardship, creativity, and mutual respect, support, and trust
    • Background check and current authorization to be employed in the U.S. required
