    Description

    Carolina Foods is the maker of Duchess Brand snacks and creator of one of America's first Honey Buns. Our business has been in operation for 90 years, and our products are synonymous with quality, innovation, and a longer shelf-life. We are a manufacturer of sweet baked goods and our products include a variety of delicious, individually wrapped items, including: honey buns, baked pies, fried pies, and gem donuts to serve all customers' needs.     Major Function

    • Implement and follow all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, Integrated Pest management, and Chemical control program.
    • Employee Training

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepares work schedules to ensure comprehensive cleaning of machines, equipment, and plant area; assigns personnel to tasks and inspects work in progress and on completion. Confers with supervisor and maintenance personnel to determine cleaning and maintenance care requirements of machinery and equipment.
    • Supervises and participates in fogging and spraying the plant with insecticides, exercises care to prevent inadvertent misuse of chemicals.
    • Inspect plant frequently for traces of vermin and to ensure standards of cleanliness; determines corrective action necessary to eliminate deficiencies.
    • Performs related work as assigned.

    Working Relationships

    • Supervisors, janitor and sanitation personnel.
    • Working relationships with other management personnel, reports directly to the President.

    Job Requirements

    • Knowledge of the permitted uses of various insecticides is essential to avoid contamination of products.
    • Working knowledge of bakery plant sanitation principles, procedures, equipment and supplies
    • Working knowledge of the details of the physical layout of plant facilities, equipment and storage areas.
    • Working knowledge of the habits of vermin relating to various methods of extermination.
    • Knowledge of company policies and practices.
    • Ability to supervise and train personnel.
    • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and standard procedures.
    • Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate janitorial work.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
    • Experience in sanitation work.
    • Pest control training.
    • Graduation from high school.
