Description

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Chemical Lab Technician near Richmond, VA for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a global manufacturer of fuels and lubricants that reduce emissions, improve fuel economy, and extend equipment life.

SUMMARY

The Chemical Lab Technician will support the R&D Analytical Department with physical properties testing. Analysis will be performed using ICP-OES, WD-XRF, titrations, and industry specific bench testing techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES

back-up support for a broad range of tests with an emphasis on maintaining our highest throughput tests.
flexibility in a high throughput and dynamic work environment.
in company quality procedures and maintain up to date documentation in test areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate with at least 2+ years professional laboratory experience minimum

Associate degree or bachelors degree in chemistry or related science is preferred

Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) experience is preferred but not required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

laboratory practices and procedures.
computer literacy (i.e., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel).
Information Systems (LIMS).
to perform standardized laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
manage multiple tasks and changing priorities to achieve completion within the agreed-on timeframe.
to cooperate effectively with fellow analysts, researchers, and stakeholders across Afton's organizational matrix to achieve business objectives.
oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly in an engaging and convincing manner.
thinking and problem solving along with knowing when to ask for help.
