- Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates at various design stages for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and insights for estimating purposes.
- Utilize industry-leading estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and improve accuracy.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Present estimates to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, highlighting key assumptions and risks.
- Monitor and track changes in project scope, specifications, and timelines to update estimates accordingly.
- Support the estimating and project management teams in soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction industry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Timberline, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
- Designs processes/practices that can adapt quickly to changing business and market demands
- Can simplify complex processes and understands how to combine tasks into an efficient workflow
- Checks and edits own work or gets peer review to ensure accuracy
- Works to clearly understand an issue
- Anticipates, identifies, and resolves challenges and obstacles
- Associates degree in Construction Management or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- LEED Accredited Professional or equivalent
