Cooking Instructor Elementary to Middles School Students - After School Program

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Cooking Instructor to lead a culinary class. The instructor will engage participants with hands-on cooking lessons, covering a variety of cooking techniques and recipes.

This role requires someone who can inspire and educate camp attendees of varying skill levels, ensuring a fun, safe, and informative environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Plan and execute a comprehensive cooking curriculum suitable for a _
    summer program_, ensuring a balance between learning and enjoyment.
  • Prepare daily lesson plans that include a list of ingredients, equipment needs, and recipe instructions.
  • Ensure that all materials and ingredients required for the camp are prepared and available for each session.
  • Teach cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and food preparation skills.
  • Supervise and interact with participants, providing individual attention and making adjustments to lessons as needed.
  • Manage the kitchen environment, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are upheld.
  • Engage with participants to foster a passion for cooking and encourage creativity in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience: At least 2 years of experience working as a chef, cooking instructor, or in a similar culinary position. Experience in educational settings or with instructional duties is highly valued.

Skill Set: Proficiency in a wide range of cooking techniques and cuisines. Ability to convey complex cooking concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.

Material Provision: Must possess and be willing to use personal cooking equipment and materials for the duration of the class. A detailed list of required materials will be provided upon selection.

Planning and Organization: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute a comprehensive culinary curriculum, including lesson planning and ingredient management.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and motivational skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt lessons and teaching style to meet the needs and interests of participants, encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment.
