Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Biology - New Orleans, United States - Tulane University
Description
Tulane Center for Aging Molecular Imaging Core is seeking a postdoc with a strong background in molecular biology, imaging, and histology.
The postdoc will be responsible for client-based projects involving spatial transcriptomics. Tasks include troubleshooting and documentation of spatial transcriptomic-based assays.Specifically, pre-planning of tissue isolation and embedding for spatial transcriptomic projects, sectioning, RNA isolation, quality control, and documentation of the results to aid in publication.
The postdoc will provide appropriate spatial transcriptomic sample setup and preparation support and execution for investigators who are seeking answers to biologically important questions and will integrate with the Tulane Center for Aging Genomics and Bioinformatics cores to provide a seamless pipeline for sequencing and bioinformatic analysis.
The postdoc will also assess new technology in this area as it develops, track reagent needs for the core, and suggest and make protocol improvements.
The postdoc will also participate in academic research.The lab is is focused on understanding the influence of aging and metabolism on bone and soft tissue regeneration using the mouse digit tip regeneration model.
The available project incorporates in vitro and in vivo approaches such as cell culture, immunohistochemistry, Seahorse, micro-CT analysis, gene expression and functional assays.
