    Description

    A laboratory research technician position will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and senior laboratory staff with performing biochemical and molecular biology experiments in mosquitoes.

    The laboratory research technician maintains mosquito colony and laboratory records, updates protocols, and assists with daily lab operations. There are opportunities for independent research, attendance at professional meetings, writing manuscripts, and publication of research findings.

    • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize work assignments
    • Ability to work independently on projects under the supervision of the PI
    • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and maintain good working relationships
    • Bachelor's degree and one year of directly related experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or related discipline Knowledge of basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques
