    Job Summary

    The Market Finance Senior Consultant serves as the key financial business partner with Commercial Markets leaders to support the optimization of financial outcomes of the business.

    The position will be the financial liaison to the business, working to educate leaders on all matters related to financial performance and supporting activities to drive performance.

    This position will play an active role in developing annual budget/forecast as well as in analyzing monthly business performance to provide business insight and actionable advice.

    This position will report to Market Finance Lead and will lead the function of providing business partner and analysis support to business leaders.

    Key

    Responsibilities/Duties

    – what you will be doing
    Partner with accounting department to ensure accurate and timely close on a monthly basis
    Monthly P&L analysis in identifying Risks and Opportunities
    Drive P&L forecast and planning work and manage business segment expenses
    Support bottom's up development for forecasts and annual budgets
    Support Pricing/Bid/Rate Filing analyses and validate key assumptions
    Research, analyze, validate, and prepare data for use in identification and execution of strategic initiatives
    Participate in periodic Monthly Operating Review and other financial performance reviews with both internal/external audience on a needed basis.
    Oversee ad hoc analysis in measuring effectiveness of various marketing programs including but not limited to direct marketing efforts for Open Enrollments,
    Understand and drive transparency and performance on metrics in service areas such as care management and operations
    Operation metrics include Service Quality and Productivity metrics
    Care Management metrics include Service utilization

    Perform what-if scenario analysis regarding business model, evaluate trade off, e.g., broker vs direct sales and influence decisions based on findings.

    Support management of medical cost trend and gross margin improvement opportunities
    Analyze the impact of contracts and support negotiations, as required, in driving market performance
    Identify areas for continuous improvements
    Competitor benchmarking and opportunity identification
    Quantify financial impact of risks per Enterprise Risk Management
    Other duties and projects as assigned
    Qualifications – what you need to perform the job
    Education, Certification and Licensure
    Bachelor's degree or ASA recommended. Master's degree or FSA preferred.
    Experience

    (minimum years required) :
    10+ years of relevant health plan experience with responsibility in driving financial outcomes
    Business

    Knowledge-Demonstrates

    an understanding of business operations with the goal of becoming the spokesperson for your assigned area
    Experience in working in fast paced, matrixed environment
    Skill Requirements
    Ability to collaborate with Finance team and business partners to achieve results. Acts as one team to ensure work is completed. Act as an owner and driver - always asking how you can help with a constant focus on proactive behavior

    Treats business partners as clients with a focus on returning phone calls and emails timely, setting up meetings to discuss critical topics, sharing processes before executing and allowing ample time to review draft documents.

    Err on the side of over communicating
    Communicates effectively within informal and formal channels, including written communications, presentations and informal communications with peers, management and business partners
    Ability to work cross functionally and influence performance in Health Care Services, Service Operations and Provider Performance
    Critical Thinking- Constructively challenges each decision and process to ensure optimal decision making and performance. Always thinking of more efficient processes, better messaging and ease of understanding
    Deep understanding of performance metrics and ability to communicate business trends, needs and outcomes
    Salary Range
    113,360-146,702

    Compensation & Total Rewards Overview

    The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a broad range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization.

    The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; equity with internal colleagues; and other conditions of employment.

    As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay.

    Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law.
