This position is for a Survey Crew Chief who will work on projects throughout the state of Indiana.

Depending on where the candidate lives, they will be based out of one of the following offices:
Fort Wayne, Goshen, South Bend, or Lafayette.

Responsibilities & Duties:

In charge of the daily activities of field Survey crewIn charge of daily crew operations such as construction staking, subdivision staking, boundary and topographic surveysPrepares daily field notes on projectsPerforms minor calculations in the field for stakingPerforms daily data uploads and downloadsMaintains survey equipment and vehiclesProvide direction to survey techniciansPerform quality controlMay require travel and overnight stay.

Daily per diem provided for lodging and meals

Qualifications & Skills:5+ years of survey construction layout experienceExperience with Topcon equipment with magnet field software a plusAbility to perform data collector calculationsAbility to read and interpret construction plansAbility to work independentlyOrganizational skills in order to plan, schedule work and complete assignments within established timeframesCapable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects and technicians
