GPI US Activity Group Leader


The mission of GPI US is to empower today's youth to thrive in a global world through educational study abroad programs.

Our top-quality programs challenge, inspire, and educate our students to be better prepared for globalization. Many of our programs deal with global issues, leadership, cross-cultural understanding, problem solving, and communicative English. We aim to maximize students' experiences with thought-provoking seminars, engaging classes, excursions, peer conversations, & practical discussion.


GPI US is seeking an Activity Group Leader who is interested in gaining valuable experience with Japanese high school students visiting and learning in the
San Francisco Bay Area.

Interest in global education and Japanese culture, and experience living abroad is a plus.


Duties Include:


  • Actively engaging in discussions to help students improve communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, cultural and global awareness not just during scheduled evening sessions but throughout the program. The students will value your relationship.
  • Acting as their escort and mentor throughout the program activities including workshops, city tours, etc.
  • Working effectively in a team environment and following instructions from Head Coordinator
  • Being confident leading or facilitating discussions and motivating & empowering Japanese students
  • Being flexible and able to work 8+ hour days during program.

Requirements:


  • Applicants should have an interest in education, international cultures, global issues, travel, and/or Japan.
  • Applicants must be fluent in English (No Japanese language skill required)
  • Applicants must be familiar with the San Francisco Bay Area and feel confident navigating the public transportation system and leading students.

Compensation:
$28/hr

Program SFQ3.24-1

  • Dates: July 21st 28th
  • Times: up to 8 hours on any given day in the above date range except for Sunday July 28th
  • Location: UC Berkeley

Program SFQ3.24-3

  • Dates: July 23rd 29th
  • Times: up to 8 hours on any given day in the above date range except for Sunday July 28th
  • Location: UC Berkeley

Program SFQ3.24-4

  • Dates: July 26th 31st
  • Times: up to 8 hours on any given day in the above date range except for Sunday July 28th
  • Criteria: current high school student
  • Location: BART accessible downtown SF

Program SFQ3.24-5

  • Dates: July 26th
  • August 5th
  • Times: up to 8 hours on 5 days in the above date range (no sessions on weekends)
  • Criteria: current high school student
  • Location: UC Berkeley

Program SFQ3.24-6

  • Dates: July 27th
  • August 4th
  • Times: up to 8 hours on any given day in the above date range
  • Location: UC Berkeley

Program SFQ3.24-7

  • Dates: August 7th 11th
  • Times: up to 8 hours on any given day in the above date range
  • Location: UC Davis

Job Types:
Contract, Temporary


Pay:
$28.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Weekends as needed
