Job Title:
Plant Manager
Job Summary:
As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of a manufacturing plant with approximately 350 employees.
You will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and you will lead a team of 4-6 direct reports to ensure the plant's performance aligns with company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4-6 direct reports in various functional areas.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the plant.
Plant Operations:
Ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the plant, meeting production targets and quality standards.
Oversee inventory management, production scheduling, and resource allocation.
Safety and Compliance:
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring that all safety regulations and protocols are followed.
Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Quality Control:
Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and effectively.
Maintenance and Asset Management:
Manage plant maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance programs and equipment repairs.
Optimize the use of plant assets to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Cost Management:
Develop and manage the plant budget, controlling costs and expenses while maintaining operational excellence.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Employee Development:
Support the recruitment, training, and development of plant staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to employees.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain open and effective communication with the Vice President of Operations and other stakeholders.
Prepare regular reports on plant performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Operations Management) is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis.
Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience in driving process improvement initiatives.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Results-oriented and driven to achieve plant and company objectives.
