    Development Engagement CoordinatorThe Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) is seeking a dynamic Development Engagement Coordinator to join its Development team.

    This is a unique position with the countys leading provider of life-changing treatment and services for children, teens, adults, and families struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health conditions.

    Founded in 1949, CADA is a progressive, culturally sensitive, and highly respected organization for its commitment to helping clients find their own personal path to recovery and lead positive, productive lives that strengthen families and our community.

    The position reports to the Director of Development and supports of a broad range of complex, strategic activities designed to help CADA raise approximately $3 million in annual donations.

    Duties will include but may not be limited to the following:

    The Development Engagement Coordinator willProvide administrative support for the Development DepartmentDatabase management & integrity (DonorPerfect) including:o Accuracy related to gift, pledge, grants, donor development and events, fundraising, marketing strategies.o Timely creation and distribution of donor, sponsor and in-kind thank you letters.

    Support Development team in planning, execution, and analysis of fundraising events throughout the year, including:
    o Scheduling event meetings; coordinating vendors and corporate sponsors; synchronizing event logistics, collateral, swag; preparing committee agendas; coordinating event staffing, volunteers; and other event-related related duties as requireAssist the Development team with thoughtful prospect researchWork closely with Finance department; gift processing activities for Development events and programsWork with the Director of Development to create compelling donor appeal letters, solicitation materials, impact statements, marketing, communications, budget, and strategic action plansRepresent CADA at a wide range of community and partner events and special project committees and other local efforts (including after hours and on weekends)


    Provide community outreach to share the CADA story, including conducting onsite facility tours of the agencys facilitiesThe successful candidate will haveA bachelors degree or higherOne to three years of nonprofit or equivalent work experience in a related fieldAdministrative and Customer service experienceStrong computer skills, including a high level of competency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and relational databases; experience with DonorPerfect preferred.

    Familiarity with or willingness to learn basic graphic design software skills (photoshop and InDesign).A high degree of accountability, responsibility, and professional integritySuperior written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem-solving skills, pro-active and attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritize and execute multiple tasks under tight and competing deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills that will foster positive relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and CADAs Board of DirectorsThe commitment to support, respect, and embrace diverse backgrounds, values, and points of viewFamiliarity with the Santa Barbara philanthropic community and nonprofit funding sources (a plus)Must have a valid California drivers license, pass an alcohol/drug screening test, be able to sit or walk for moderate periods, and occasionally carry and lift/transport objects weighing up to 30 pounds.

    This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.

    5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and/or weekend work required. Benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement contribution, and paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday).


    Annual salary:
    $ $26.00, dependent on qualifications.
