    Job Description

    Ledgent is currently looking for a Staff Accountant for a client in Tampa Bay. This is a fantastic opportunity with excellent benefits and room for growth.

    The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities.

    This position requires on-site presence.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Perform general cost accounting and related tasks.
    • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
    • Maintain the general ledger.
    • Handle invoices, account reconciliation, and monthly book closures.
    • Reconcile bank and financial accounts regularly.
    • Manage accounts receivable collections and payments.
    • Assist auditors during annual audits.
    • File tax forms with relevant government agencies.
    • Coordinate with software vendors to enhance accounting systems.
    • Manage purchasing and invoicing systems.
    • Maintain knowledge of accounting practices.
    • Perform other assigned duties.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of financial and cost accounting.
    • Ability to adhere to accounting principles.
    • Prepare tax reports accurately.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
    • Minimum of three years of related experience.
