    We are long standing organization with roots in Taft-Hartley benefit funds. Located in Northern Orange County, we are currently searching for an Assistant Controller to join our organization.


    This position plays a critical role on developing the Accounting team, managing and improving the internal processes for accounting, financial close and reporting.

    The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in the following areas:

    The Accounting Department team

    Prepare and consolidate financial statements

    Establish, maintain and communicate internal processes and controls for the department and the organization

    Cash Accounting

    Intercompany funds and transfers

    Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end financial analysis

    Assist the Controller and department leaders with the budgeting process

    Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with GAAP

    Analyze, report, communicate and correct variances

    Manage the accounts payable function including GL entries

    Mentor, train and delegate work to Accounting Team

    Build strong working relationships with vendors

    Coordinate and manage financial audits with the Controller and CEO

    Collaborate with external audit teams and review recommendations

    Research, review and recommend Taft-Hartley compliance issues within Accounting

    The right candidate will posses the following:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related area from an accredited college or university along with 10 years prior experience in accounting
    • 3 to 5 years prior experience working in a Taft-Hartley benefit fund is highly desired
    • Strong understanding of GAAP along with audit, compliance and tax issues required
    • Able to provide guidance and support on inter-company transfer's, GL posting and reconciliations required
