    Travel Advisor

    Discovering the World- One Member at a Time

    A passion for travel attracts many individuals to this field, but to excel as a Travel Advisor, one must truly embrace the opportunities to connect history, cultures, and cuisine that travel brings. Successful Travel Advisors need a strong sales focus, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in computer use, effective written and verbal communication, and a willingness to continuously learn are also essential.

    Responsibilities of a AAA Travel Advisor:

    • Selling international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, flights, car rentals, and accommodations
    • Sharing knowledge and insights gained from personal travels or educational trips
    • Building lasting relationships with members, generating referrals and fostering repeat business
    • Offering recommendations to exceed members' expectations and customize their travel experiences
    • Cross-selling relevant products like AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft protection

    This role can be a stepping stone to future leadership positions for the right candidate. Advancement opportunities are based on performance evaluations in sales, customer service, administration, operations, upselling, cross-selling, and goal achievement. Successful evaluations may lead to growth opportunities and progression into managerial roles.

    Required/Preferred Skills:

    • High school diploma required; a college degree is preferred
    • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings
    • 2+ years of retail sales, banking, or leisure travel agency experience preferred

    Your Qualifications:

    • Passionate about travel
    • Able to work Saturdays and evenings to meet goals
    • Completion of Travel Agent Trainee program, involving some travel
    • Goal-oriented and sales-driven
    • Proficient in computer operations and Microsoft Office, typing speed of at least 30WPM
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
