- Develop business opportunities related to recently commercialized technologies or those in the late stages of technology development
- Increase awareness of the Axens brand and build relationships in emerging markets such as ethanol production, waste management, recycling, plastic product production (brand owners), low-carbon power, biomass supply chains
- Map and understand the different legislation and incentive packages affecting project development
- Coordinate with Axens global ROCs to understand regional drivers and ensure consistent, worldwide messaging
- Ensure the pre-marketing / marketing of the Axens offer by involving, supporting, and enabling the Commercial Group and sales force
- Develop techno-economic models and understand the effects of project financing on opportunity development
- Develop relationships in the financial community
- Provide market feedback to the technology development teams, including potential technology improvements, competitive information, and new opportunities
- Find, join, and support relevant trade associations, conferences, and regulatory groups in the related fields
- Promote and support technical proposals and performance prediction for emerging technologies
- Actively lead the technical and commercial development of the new Axens offer in the field of CO2 capture in coordination with the sales force and in the American market.
- Participate in the development of CO2 capture technology in collaboration with IFP Energies Nouvelles,
- Prepare technical proposals in response to calls for tenders, for new or revamped units and for solvent swap when applicable. As such, you determine the performance, quantity of solvent, operating conditions and cycle time of our products or units. You can carry out the preliminary sizing of the equipment and calculate the investment and operating costs,
- Technically support the Sales Managers in the defense of offers to customers on the American market,
- Participate in the update or development of marketing messages associated with the technologies of the Product Line,
- Participate in the collection, synthesis and exploitation of knowledge relating to these processes, solvents and catalysts, including feedback from units in operation in cooperation with the other teams of the Product Line,
- Contribute to the development of the Product Line offer by proposing improvements.
- Map potential markets including industrial players, market drivers, regional incentives, and sequestration / utilization opportunities
- Strategically define and approach licensing prospects in parallel with the final stages of technology development;
- Contribute to the formation of project commercial strategy and support the commercial forces during negotiations;
- Participate in conferences on the theme of CO2 capture and build relationships with potential customers.
- BS, MS or PhD. degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering required
- Expertise in chemical engineering fundamentals including reaction engineering and general chemistry required
- You have 4 to 5 years experience in basic engineering, technology development, or unit operations in gas treatment, refining or petrochemical technologies. Background in solvent-related processes and CO2 capture is ideal. .
- You also have experience in customer-facing roles, ideally including opportunity development
- You have skills in sizing standard equipment and simulation software (ProII, Hysys, etc.)
- Ability to communicate technical information efficiently both in writing and verbally, including in face-to-face meetings. Sense of synthesis, pragmatism
- Ability to format technical documents based upon rigorous analysis of available information and data
- Entrepreneurial spirit and fundamental desire to explore growth opportunities in new spaces

The mission of the Emerging Market Development Group is to define, develop and promote Axens offer in the emerging energy field including plastics recycling, carbon capture, e-fuels, and cellulosic fuels and chemicals. The team supports opportunity and business model development for these new technologies in close coordination with the other Business Divisions and Axens ROCs.
We are excited to announce the opening of a new position: Carbon Capture Technology Engineer . The position will be based in one of the primary ROC Americas offices, focus on the American market, and report to the Emerging Market Development Director. Functionally, the individual will be part of the "Low Carbon Solutions & Gas" Global Product Line team, he will receive guidance as well as technical supervision from the Product Line Manager and will provide reports of his activities to him.
