- Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care services, including but not limited to taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and administering medications under supervision.
- Conduct initial patient assessments and screenings to gather relevant information for healthcare providers.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and followup care, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate medical records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Provide translation and interpretation services for nonEnglishspeaking patients during medical appointments and interactions with healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to facilitate comprehensive patient care and support treatment plans.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phones, processing paperwork, and assisting with insurance verification.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification or registration as a medical assistant (CMA/RMA) highly desirable.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health or psychiatry.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and team members.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic nature of behavioral health care.
