    Description

    Job Title:
    Travel RN – Operating Room


    Location:
    Morristown, NJ

    Duration: 3-month contract with possibility of extension and per diem / stipend if above 50 miles
    Schedule: 3x12 hours, 7-7, Both Day and Night Shift


    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate or bachelor's Degree – Preferred
    • NJ RN license - Required.
    • BLS - Required.
    • ACLS – Preferred.
    • CNOR – Preferred.
    • Minimum 1 year experience – Required.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Assessment skills:

    Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately.

    Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.

    • Clinical Skills:
    Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills. Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept. Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.

    • Documentation :
    Maintains complete and accurate documentation. Demonstrates knowledge of documentation guidelines.

    Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patients' progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart including patient education.


    • Professionalism:
    Demonstrates professional practice responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and can identify areas for clinical and professional growth.

    • Patient Satisfaction :

    Consistently responds to patients/families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promote an environment where the patient and family are at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goals and objectives.

    Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.

    • Safety:
    Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patients utilizing 2 patient identifiers. Demonstrates use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self, and patients.

    • Unit-Specific Job Function:
    Demonstrates knowledge of surgical patients' conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment. Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions.
