SUMMARY


The Manager, Human Resources (HR) Business Partner is accountable for broad HR strategic responsibilities supporting select Performance and Essential commercial and corporate staff groups.

Responsible for client group employee relations, performance management, change management, policy and procedure interpretation, legal compliance, total compensation, training and development, and communication initiatives.

Manages the activities of HR professional staff.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead as a trusted advisor to colleagues and business leaders.
  • Lead as a strategic partner to the commercial business leaders to design and implement effective organization structures, reduce complexities and maximize team performance.
  • Designs and executes retention and engagement strategies to continually develop and retain high performer and high potential talent.
  • Ensure the right talent is in place by overseeing Talent Acquisition, onboarding and new manager assimilation.
  • Consult with legal counsel and other internal stakeholders on performance management cases, ethics inquiries and investigations, and terminations.
  • Partnering with the Total Rewards teams, support corporate efforts to develop/maintain competitive salaried employee structures.
  • Participate in organizational change initiatives and driving change management by supporting employees in adapting to new processes or structures.
  • Participate in leadership and management meetings to support the strategic and operational objectives of client groups. Provides support and data to ensure objective business decisions.
  • Manages and leads the activities and development of HR professional staff.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management to support organizational training and development initiatives.
  • Lead M & A activities for the commercial business client group focusing on HR related issues including organization design, integration, and transition activities.
  • Oversight of Community Outreach Committee (planning and execution of outreach events).
  • Special projects as required or assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields
  • Minimum ten years progressive HR experience in all functional areas including talent acquisition, leadership development, employee relations, compensation administration, and performance management
  • Excellence in a client management model: mobilizing the best people and integrating the tools and processes required to meet the needs of the business
  • Business driven with strong financial acumen.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; solid team player
  • Ability to influence senior management, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership
  • Knowledge of best practices, HR laws, policies and procedures

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Incumbent may be required to travel via auto or airline on a limited basis.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. May be exposed to manufacturing environments on a limited basis.

Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.

May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
