Description

The Risk Manager II with mínimal supervision investigates adverse events, near misses, and potential claims and suits and actively participates in developing and implementing loss prevention and risk mitigation methodologies and patient safety initiatives in assigned areas or entities.

This includes gathering and analyzing data and preparing reports as well as keeping both MMCIP and client leaders informed about significant developments.

The Risk Manager II may also be assigned supervisory duties responsible for the mentoring, coaching, and immediate supervision of one or more Risk Manager I employees; and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical health care with Master's or JD degree preferred
  • Three years nursing and/or other clinical experience required in special care units, ICU's, ER, Shock Trauma, Obstetrics etc. Other clinical experience may be acceptable such as chronic or rehab care based on assigned areas of responsibility
  • 3 years Risk Management or related experience
  • Current CPHRM certification
  • Overall performance evaluation for past employment term must indicate strong performance in all major aspects of job responsibilities
  • Has taken on special projects or additional responsibilities before promotion to Senior Risk Manager
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
