Services includesupportive care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care all in avillage-type setting. Our 72 acre sanctuary of pristine woods, meadows, walkingpaths and gardens is just north of Boston.
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site, hands-on position responsible for overseeing the financial management of the entire retirement community, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, maintaining financial policies and procedures, leading and managing the Accounting, Finance team, and working with other teams to ensure the community's overall success in achieving its financial objectives.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:

Implements, leads and manages full accounting cycle each month

Develops accurate and timelyfinancial statements and related management reporting

Assistsin the implementation of an annual calendar of reporting compliance dates

Ensuresthat external financial reporting is timely and appropriate

Adheresto accounting and reporting and internal control standards

Maintainsa thorough understanding of accounting, payroll, fixed assets, and actuarialsoftware

Maintainsthe resident actuarial database

Assistsin the preparation of capital, labor, and operating budgets

Reportsvariances from budgets, prior year, monthly operating reports and financialstatements to the CFO

Responsiblefor the assistance of preparation of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports, annualunclaimed property filing and audit workpapers

Overseesthe filing of Federal and State payroll tax returns, benefit forms andunemployment returns

Hires,trains, evaluates, and supervises the A/R Manager and A/P Coordinator ingeneral accounting, accounts payable, credit, billing and collection, scheduleof charges, inventory and purchasing controls

Providesfinancial and business support to the Chief Financial Officer

Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care

Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job

Adheres to all company policies,procedures, and standards of conduct

Reports to the appropriate managersany known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations orstandards of conduct

Attends required in-services and training

Performs additional duties asassigned

Qualifications:

Direct hands-on experience with month end close processes
Understanding of Medicare andMedicaid Cost reporting requirements is a plus
Leads and manages the FullAccounting Cycle each month
Strong Financial Planning andReporting skills
Experience in creating and analyzingfinancial statements
Possess leadership qualities over ateam of 6 associates (and growing)
Understands Endowment and InvestmentReporting
Excellent analytical andcommunication skills
Knowledge of Finance principles andprocedures
Experience in working at aHealthcare facility or Retirement community is a plus
Familiar with UKG for payroll andMatrix Care for all financial products
Bachelor's degree in Accounting orFinance
MBA and/or CPA certification ispreferred
