    Senior Accounting Manager

    The Senior Accounting Manager is a key member of the Finance team.

    This role is an important contributor to maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

    This position reports to the Controller.


    Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Controller in ensuring all month end close activities are performed timely and accurately.
    • Prepare journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations and review those prepared by the Senior Staff Accountant.
    • Coordinate and communicate cross functionally to track the progress of multi-period/multi-year projects for monthly accrual entries; calculate and record monthly accrual entries.
    • Responsible for timely and accurate inventory accounting overseeing receipts, capitalizing appropriate costs.
    • Reconcile inventory detail to the general ledger on a monthly basis with necessary support form Supply Chain.
    • Record inventory transactions for COGs, sample and free goods activity.
    • Reconcile on-hand inventory per NetSuite to on-hand reports per the contract manufacturers.
    • Assist the Controller in the annual audit and quarterly review processes.
    • Draft the monthly financial statements.
    • Responsible for maintaining fixed assets in the ERP system and the associated depreciation schedules.
    • Responsible for monthly lease accounting entries.
    • Assist in the monthly gross-to-net (GTN) entry review process and recording of GTN related entries.
    • Ad-hoc analysis and projects as required.
    • Manage Finance onboarding of new suppliers including the collection of W-9s.
    • Review financial data for accuracy, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
    • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and review of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX, the SEC, and other regulatory agencies as applicable.
    • Train, supervise, and mentor junior staff within the Finance department.
    • Continuously improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

    Required Expertise Competencies:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
    • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with public accounting experience preferred
    • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
    • Knowledgeable in the general ledger function and the month-end close process, including account reconciliations.
    • Knowledgeable/Expert in proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Knowledgeable/Expert in proficiency in Excel, financial software, and ERP software (NetSuite preferred).
    • Knowledgeable/Expert in complex accrual entries preferred.
    • Background in Pharmaceutical Industry, Life Sciences, or Biotech Industry is a plus.
    • Knowledgeable/Expert and proven ability in developing and implementing financial and operational controls.

    Expectations:

    • This position is hybrid with a minimum of two days per week in Burlington, MA office, between Tuesday and Thursday. Additional time in the office could be required as circumstances dictate.
