- Maintain accurate driver information in TMS e.g. ETA's, PTA's, RDO's, Time Off Requests, etc.
- Check-call EVERY truck multiple times per day to assist with compliance in all aspects of Production, Retention, On-Time Service and with Safety being our first priority
- Develop positive rapport and relationships with drivers through effective satellite and verbal communication
- Coach drivers and help them manage their time to continually improve daily and weekly mileage and service performance
- Continually be aware of and interact positively and professionally with drivers
- Communicate shop needs to maintenance in a timely manner with diligent follow-up
- Identify and resolve swaps needed on board
- Act as the voice of the driver and interact professionally with Load Planners and Customer Service Representatives
- Communicate and work as a team player with all departments e.g. Maintenance, Safety, Recruiting, etc.
- Provide prompt notification to Load Planners and Customer Service Representatives as issues arise
- Assist other driver managers with swaps needed and be able to cover for them in absence.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures
- Work closely with safety and counsel drivers as needed regarding HOS and safety violations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, colleagues and managers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- 1-2 years of dispatch / driver management experience preferred
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
