Position: Information Assurance Specialist

Location:

Job Summary: Our client, a leader in research and development, is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to join their team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will provide essential systems administration and information assurance support for classified systems. Key responsibilities include configuring and validating compliance using industry standards, initiating and completing Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages, and maintaining security documentation for classified systems. You will also play a crucial role in establishing and administering security policies and procedures, conducting security assessments, and interfacing with government agencies.

Key Performance Areas:

Provide systems administration and information assurance support for classified systems.
Configure and validate compliance using DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), and STIG Viewer.
Initiate and complete Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for enterprise architectures.
Create and maintain Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, System Security Plans (SSPs), and other security documentation.
Establish and administer security systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with government directives.
Conduct analysis and assessment of security control guidance and procedures.
Identify, contain, investigate, and report data spills.
Provide technical oversight for classified system compliance.
Interface with government agencies for security inspections and reviews.

Key Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an IT systems administrator.
Demonstrated experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret security clearance.
Experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and network systems administration.
Familiarity with NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations.
Proficiency with DISA STIGs, SCC, and STIG Viewer.
DoDD M) IAT Level 2 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Military veteran with relevant IT and computer security experience.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
