    About this role:
    Wells Fargo is seeking a Compliance Executive.


    In this role, you will:

    • Provide vision and set direction for Compliance including multiple high impact initiatives to achieve long term strategic objectives that impact management across functions
    • Manage and lead team with the implementation of the companywide compliance program with high-risk complexity
    • Direct and oversee complex regulatory environments including establishing standards
    • Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions
    • Manage an aspect of the companywide compliance program for enterprise horizontal compliance program with high risk and complexity, and oversee and monitor specific elements of the companywide compliance program
    • Effectively engage and collaborate across all areas of Compliance to ensure consistent execution across the Compliance Program
    • Provide compliance risk and regulatory subject matter expertise for a defined set of compliance program elements
    • Provide reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
    • Engage regularly with the Legal Department on current and emerging compliance risks, and interact routinely with Audit and regulators on compliance related topics
    • Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives
    • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
    • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
    • Lead team to achieve objectives
    • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Compliance
    • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

    Required Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
    • 4+ years of Management experience

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience working horizontally across a large, complex organization and participating in enterprise-wide implementations of major policy and relevant compliance programs across major business divisions.
    • Must be subject matter expert in processes related to compliance risk and possess well-rounded knowledge of current compliance issues and challenges.
    • Proven experience establishing a large-scale vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership areas through effective communication and successful delivery against goals and objectives.
    • Deep experience with interpreting and building processes and output to comply with complex regulatory requirements.
    • Deep understanding of the ever-evolving governance and regulatory environments as well as experience interacting and communicating with regulatory authorities.
    • Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives weighing business advancement against associated risk.
    • Self-motivated and able to adapt to dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict timelines.
    • Proven ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, including ability to influence and drive timely decision making.
    • Proven ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including business leaders, legal, audit and multiple U.S. and non-U.S. regulators.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track record for delivering results.
    • Effective communicator and relationship manager. Able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork.
    • Experience driving large-scale organizational change.
    • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, ensuring proper staffing and expertise, and manage the establishment of major policies and relevant compliance programs across major business divisions within a large and complex organization.
    • Ethical integrity and proven ability to serve as a role model by reinforcing and demonstrating to your team members the core values and behavioral expectations contained in Wells Fargo's Vision, Values & Goals.
    • Advanced Degree preferred (Masters, MBA, or JD).

    Job Expectations:

    • Accountable for the ongoing and effective administrative management of the Independent Risk Management Compliance function in accordance with applicable Enterprise policies and procedures, including the establishment, maintenance, and management of the appropriate processes to support talent management and development, staffing and skills assessment, strategic planning and budgeting, and an internal quality assurance program.
    • Oversee and credibly challenge all centralized compliance functions, including development and maintenance of key policies and frameworks, compliance technology, compliance training and team member development, management and board reporting, comprehensive aggregated risk assessments, regulatory change management and other compliance risk management processes.
    • Manage the overall administration of the Compliance function, including planning, space and records management, business continuity, and third-party risk management.
    • Partner with Compliance Leadership team to credibly challenge and assess the business environment with respect to managing and mitigating compliance risk and establish processes to ensure effective and timely implementation of regulatory change requirements applicable to the functions.
    • Direct the implementation of effective compliance strategies to assess key risks and anticipate regulatory issues; and identify opportunities to simplify and drive consistency of solutions to strengthen compliance risk management.
    • Support the establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with the Firm's regulators.
    • Lead and actively participate as a key member of the Chief Compliance Officer's (CCO) leadership team and other risk management and compliance committees such as the Compliance Risk Management Committee and participate as a compliance representative on various business-based governance committees.
    • Foster an environment that ensures strong communication and cooperation across the three lines of defense, including business line leadership, Legal, Audit, Compliance, and other corporate stakeholders to facilitate transparency, balance, and credible challenge.
    • Sustain a strong risk culture that identifies and provides oversight and escalation of existing and emerging compliance issues across business groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions and ensure that escalated compliance issues receive immediate senior management attention.
    • Create a culture of excellence by proactively attracting, retaining, and developing a team of talented and diverse compliance professionals to support the maintenance and execution of processes for the effective administrative management of the Compliance division.
