    Renewables Zoning and Land Use Attorney (Senior to Manager level) - Energy Storage

    Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)

    This is a unique opportunity to join a leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing, focusing on the development and execution of utility-scale energy storage projects. They have amassed over 9GW of projects in a short time and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase. Join an expanding Energy Storage Project Development Team to work on strategic permitting initiatives across the portfolio.

    The role involves working on permitting and zoning for complex renewable energy projects, collaborating with the Project Development Team to develop project plans and de-risking strategies. Attorney / Legal Counsel credentials or SME level experience in supporting land use permits based on zoning codes is required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Act as a key contributor in permitting/zoning, project risk assessments, and environmental concerns for utility-scale renewable energy storage projects
    • Support land use, permitting, and zoning inquiries/public hearings related to renewable energy projects
    • Develop and implement a cohesive renewable project development framework for evaluating new projects
    • Work on renewable battery storage project permitting initiatives to ensure project deadlines are met

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 4+ years of experience in complex permitting strategies for large infrastructure projects
    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) with experience in drafting land zoning analysis & permitting plans
    • Ability to work closely with Project Developers and create presentations on project risk and environmental compliance
    • Proven track record in supporting permitting strategies leading to project success
    • Direct experience in land entitlement, environmental regulations, and development strategies
    • Understanding of national energy markets and land permitting requirements in various regions
