DOT is an equal opportunity employer, committed to recruiting and maintaining a diverse workforce in an open and inclusive environment.

DOT's Bike Share & Shared Mobility unit is responsible for planning, oversight, and management of the Citi Bike program, dock less e-scooter and e-bike-share services, app-based e-moped rental services, and other emerging micro mobility-share services.

Citi Bike, New York City's bike share program, currently reaches four boroughs with more than 26,000 bicycles and 1,500 stations and is continuing to grow.

The program has become an integral part of NYC's transportation network and by 2024 more than half of NYC's population will live within a 5-minute walk of a Citi Bike station.

DOT is currently in the midst of two-year pilot of e-scooter share services in the East Bronx with three vendors and 6,000 vehicles, as required by state and local law.

In November 2022, DOT released a new procurement in the hopes of continuing to support shared e-scooters, e-bikes, and other forms of micro mobility when the pilot ends in 2023.

In addition, e-moped share has proliferated in NYC and DOT has implemented a regulatory framework for these services.
