- Building high performing team(s) through recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of top talent including entry level & experienced staff while maintaining focus on the retention of current staff
- Leading the team in Istanbul, Turkey to foster an engaged, accountable, and healthy team environment by focusing on collaboration, communication, and career development
- Regularly meet with the team to ensure employees have a clear path of career development and support and are adequately leveraged and empowered to their strengths and skillsets
- Monitor progress on projects and provide engineering support & input into areas of concern and direction or redirection to enhance the achievement of project schedules, productivity goals, budgets, and quality
- Provide technical mentorship to the team to ensure they can effectively perform their job duties in a high-quality manner
- Lead engineering teams in execution of complex transmission line design programs and projects
- Actively manage, forecast, and optimize near-term and long-term team resources to ensure projects are adequately staffed and billability metrics are maintained. Maintain agreed upon personal billability
- Actively support corporate Quality Management initiatives and being directly accountable for Turkey Transmission engineering quality performance.
- Actively lead the quality improvement initiative. Develop, monitor, train, and drive improvements as assessed through quality metrics for the team
- Assist leadership to develop, implement, and refine systems and processes to optimize engineering functions
- Organize, lead, and conduct annual performance appraisal process for staff including meeting with staff quarterly, at a minimum, to discuss real-time performance & driving continuous improvement
- Develop S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time bound) for the team and for individuals to align expectations and meet business objectives
- Collaborate with the Project Management Organization to track project / program status, budgeted hours for technical support, and quality performance
- Lead development of tailored annual technical curriculum and material tailored to suit the needs of Turkey Transmission Engineering and design team
- Develop strategic short- and long-term plans for staff engagement including annual travel plan and virtual sessions maximizing value, with a focus on intentional development of staff
- Travel annually at a minimum to hold in-person discussions with staff for reasonable durations at a stretch (not less than 2 weeks)
- Develop and establish a strong working relationship with Transmission Staff and leadership across North America and Turkey internally to enhance collaboration & consistency in implementation of policies, procedures and leverage skillsets of available staff
- Work with HR to develop and enforce office policies and procedures to maintain productiveness within the team
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college
- Minimum 8 years of overhead/underground transmission experience and/or structural civil engineering/design experience
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
- Demonstrated excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence, lead, and manage change thoughtfully and positively
- Possess strong strategic perspective of the industry
- Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients
- Proven leadership in developing and implementing vision that has brought positive impact
- Ability to solve multi-layered complex resource, projects, and or performance challenges
- Proven collaboration, facilitation and organization problem solving skills in previous roles
- Demonstrated technical ability in transmission engineering design
- Ability to travel

West Power Energy is looking for a Team Lead for the Transmission team in Turkey that is part of the Global Delivery Division at WPE. The ideal candidate is passionate about servant leadership, experienced, innovative, and will be focused on developing a high performing Engineering team that supports utility clients across North America.
Job Description
In this position, you will leverage your T&D experience and leadership strengths to develop, optimize and grow our Transmission team in Turkey to ensure that WPE delivers the highest quality engineering designs. The Turkey Team Lead will work closely with the Transmission leadership in managing daily administrative functions, resource forecasting, quality control and workload of the Turkey team to ensure efficient utilization of resources and exceeding throughput expectations. This position will report to the Vice President of Transmission Engineering & Global Delivery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
