    ** Transportation Coordinator/Driver - Days Full-Time**

    ** Portland Center Assisted Living**

    ** Portland, ME**

    Schedule: **Full-Time** Shift: **Days**

    This is an entry level position. Experience as a PSS, CNA, or CRMA is helpful. Room for professional development and growth

    Purpose of Position: Safely transport residents to appointments and other necessary destinations as part of their plan of care.

    Responsibilities:

    Assures safe transport of residents obeying all rules and laws of the road.

    Promotes and maintains positive relationships with other staff, residents, and families.

    Is dependable maintain excellent attendance.

    Safely assist residents in and out of the van as necessary. This includes the safely operating the wheelchair lift.

    Safely deliver residents to their destinations in a timely manner.

    Maintains cleanliness of the van and reports any and all problems promptly to the Environmental Services Director

    When there are no appointments scheduled, the van driver is expected to work as a direct care giver.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

    Clearly convey and understand verbal and written messages and directives.

    Comprehend and practice generally recognized safety principles and procedures.

    Operate a vehicle, and have a license free of moving violations; must be able to be insured as a driver.

    Knowledge of the appropriate action to take when involved in a job related vehicle accident / incident.

    Qualifications:

    High School graduate or equivalent

    CNA/CNA-Med Tech/ CRMA/PSS/RCS-I current certificate

    Minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.

    Valid Maine drivers license free of traffic violations. The driving record will be checked on an annual basis. All drivers are required to report a moving vehicle conviction to this company within thirty (30) days of the conviction.

    Minimum of five (5) years driving experience.
