    Peace Healthcare at Lions Center is a 101-bed skilled nursing facility located in Cumberland, Maryland. We're known for our friendly customer service and the exceptional care we provide our residents. We offer 24/7 skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, subacute care and other senior care services. We are seeking both full time applicant to work 8 hour shifts during the day or evening hours, with weekend availability needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
    • Must have willingness and ability to safely operate a resident transport van .
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English.
    • Must possess strong organizational skills, initiative, creativity and communication abilities.
    • Must be able to bend, reach, walk, sit, stand and push/pull as the position requires
    • Must be capable of lifting up to 25lbs.

    JOB SUMMARY: The Activities Assistant is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and implementing activities both within the facility and on community outings. Under the direction of the Activities Director, the Activities Assistant will ensure that an ongoing program of activities is maintained to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being of each resident according to their comprehensive assessment.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Activity Planning and Coordination:
      • Develop and implement a diverse range of activities to cater to the interests and needs of residents.
      • Collaborate with other team members to organize events, outings, and in-house activities. These activities may include exercise classes, social events, educational programs, or other group activities that promote socialization, physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being among residents
      • Conduct one-on-one activity therapy sessions with residents to provide sensory stimulation and promote cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being.
      • Create a positive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and mental stimulation.
    • Transportation Management:
      • Safely transport residents to and from scheduled outings and appointments using the facility's transport vehicle.
      • Ensure the comfort and well-being of residents during transportation.
      • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the transportation vehicle.
      • Ensures that residents are properly secured in the vehicle, following all traffic laws and regulations, and providing assistance to residents as they enter and exit the vehicle.
