    The Opportunity

    Join Abbott's Diagnostics team as a Principal Software Engineer in the Irving, TX office. In this role, you'll contribute to the development of software solutions for medical instruments, demonstrating dynamic leadership in shaping intricate software architectures and design patterns.

    Responsibilities

    • Architect program and project structures for embedded systems, applications, and integrations.
    • Define software design architecture and subsystem features, components, and interactions.
    • Guide teams in designing and implementing software solutions to drive business value.
    • Manage architecture governance to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
    • Offer technical expertise in analyzing user needs, requirements, and risk mitigation.
    • Lead the development of architectural frameworks and drive standardization and efficiency in software development processes.
    • Collaborate in cross-functional environments to deliver high-quality software products within Agile methodologies.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in C, C++, and embedded C programming.
    • Expertise in software architecture, object-oriented programming, and SDLC concepts.
    • Proficiency in data structures, algorithm, networking, and device driver development.
    • Experience in Agile practices, continuous integration, and deployment tools.
    • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in regulated environments and medical instrument development.
    • Knowledge of IOT, edge computing, and communication protocols.
    • Familiarity with FPGA architecture, GUI development, and Atlassian suite.

    The salary for this position ranges from $109,300.00 to $218,000.00, with variations in specific locations.
