    The role involves gathering and understanding FP&A business requirements; Webster's data systems and tools; designing coding and maintaining data workflows; anticipating and resolving data challenges; user-friendly reports and dashboards; and clearly communicating results. The individual needs to collaborate with IT, Data Team, and LoB partners in developing data workflows, data analysis and reporting. The scope includes working across one or more of our main subject areas - R&D, Quarterly Production and Engineering frameworks. The Quant Engineer role is right for you if you're a "hands-on" coder and analyst, take ownership and sound business understanding.

    Primary Responsibilities

    •Develop expert knowledge and experience with Webster's data systems and tools.

    •Develop strong relationships with Webster lines of business, Finance, Treasury, Credit, Risk & IT partners, ensuring support requirements are met.

    •Analyze and organize large datasets to derive actionable insights and support decision-making processes.

    •Design and develop Data Workflows, Reports and Dashboards

    •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement effective solutions.

    •Work with external data sources, APIs.

    •Assist in the implementation of Data Science solutions where applicable.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 1-3 years of industry experience in Software Development, Analyst, Data Engineering, or related field.
    • Experience working with complex data structures within a RDMS (Oracle, SQL).
    • Proficient in Python/SAS Programming Language.
    • Some business knowledge and familiarity with commercial & consumer banking products, operations, and processes, or risk & finance background/experience.
    • Experience in Reporting and Dashboarding tools (e.g.- Tableau, Qlik Sense).
    • Experience with design, coding, and testing patterns as well as engineering software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures.
    • Experience with Data Science project implementation.
    • Documenting requirements as well as resolving conflicts or ambiguities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
    • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ingenuity, analytical thinking, resourceful, persistent, pragmatic, motivated and socially intelligent.
    • Technically oriented, proactive, and enthusiastic, with good attention to details.
    • Time management skills are needed to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Strong ability with standard office tools such as Excel/VBA, PowerPoint, and Word.
    Preferred Skills & Experience
    • Experience with one or more cloud-based computing platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
    • Experience in designing efficient and robust data workflows (e.g.- Apache Airflow).
    • Experience in developing constructive relationships with a wide range of different stakeholders.
    • Ability to independently gather data from various sources and conduct research.
    • Ability to think "out of the box" and provide suggestions on ways to improve the process.
    • Experience in integrating automated unit test cases and code scanning tools with CI/CD pipeline (E.g. - GitLab).
    Education
    • Bachelors in econometrics, statistics, data science, computer science or other STEM fields (e.g., physics, math, engineering, etc.)
    • Finance or Business degree with strong quantitative and programming background also acceptable.
    The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000USD to $100,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
