SALARY:
$6,210.00 to $7,564.00 Monthly (Range 84)

$750 New Hire Incentive

(One-time payment, upon completion of six-month probation, if start date is 6/30/2024 or prior)


LENGTH OF SERVICE:
12 Months/260 Days per Year

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Multilingual Education Program Specialist monitors the day-to-day operation of the Multilingual Education department. This position performs various assignments, including coordinating projects, events, and training opportunities.

The Multilingual Education Program Specialist is responsible for establishing, organizing, and maintaining information related to Multilingual Education, including English language development, the implementation of Dual Language Immersion programs, the implementation of the CA English Learner Roadmap, and data collection.

The Multilingual Education Program Specialist will have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to multitask and work collaboratively with program staff, County Office of Education partners, external grant evaluators, and project participants.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSMonitors the day-to-day operation of the Multilingual Education team;Reviews and ensures that all participant records are complete, up-to-date, and stored securely;Audits participant payments, files, and other documents for accuracy;Applies grant guidelines to process attendance and completion of professional development sessions;Prepares meeting agendas, partnership agreements, training materials, spreadsheets, brochures, data, reports, and other forms of correspondence;Assists grant partners and works closely with external evaluators;Maintains relationships with participating grant partners, external evaluators, districts, local agencies, program participants, and others;Coordinates with and conducts presentations for grant partners to inform them of the program;Creates, updates, and revises forms and materials and takes meeting notes;Develops and monitors outreach strategies;Coordinates, attends, and conducts meetings, workshops, trainings, and other events;Resolves complex and technical questions relating to the program operation;Maintains regular communication with IT department to keep website information up to date, collect quarterly website visitor/subscriber information, and coordinate OMS data collection;Maintain regular communication with external evaluators to ensure timely and accurate data collection;Coordinates with Digital Badging provider to ensure that Digital Badges are accurately issued and displayed for participants who have met course completion requirements;Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual data project reports and summaries as needed;Performs related duties as required.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience coordinating projects; using computer software systems; collecting data; organizing and facilitating trainings/workshops; developing databases, reports, and training materials; processing financial transactions; collaborating with multiple county offices of education;
Knowledge of Multilingual Education program principles and practices; California English Learner Roadmap; components of comprehensive English language development programs, grant regulations and/or funding sources related to English learner programs; office management procedures; basic fiscal operations; effective communication skills;
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with individuals of various county offices in different regions in California; read, interpret, and explain policies, procedures, and regulations; maintain accurate records securely; successfully work on multiple project; troubleshoot problems as needed; work independently as well as in groups; meet required timelines; perform fiscal operations; follow oral and written instructions; work varied hours/days; travel to convening locations per grant requirements; build positive relationships;

Physical Abilities include sitting, standing and walking for extended periods, talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision, stamina and agility to push, pull, lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 50 pounds occasionally.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTwo (2) years experience performing increasingly responsible and diverse administrative support duties in a school district or County Office of Education;Two (2) years experience developing databases, fliers, and reports;Two (2) years experience processing financial transactions;One (1) year experience planning and/or conducting meetings, workshop
