    Description

    Overview:
    M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, is looking for a dynamic Nurse Manager to guide our Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit team Are you ready to join this team? Are you ready to make a difference in people's lives?
    Our Peds CVICU has 12 beds.

    Our clinical staff apply innovative approaches to creating medical breakthroughs based their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota.

    This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child.

    This is a full time position.

    Responsibilities/Job Description:

    Job Expectations:

    Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

    Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

    Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
    Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.
    Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

    CVICU NM:
    Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
    Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
    Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.
    Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.
    In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/standard process clinical care is being delivered.
    Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.
    Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.
    Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
    Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.


    Qualifications:
    Required
    Education
    Bachelor's degree in Nursing. If Bachelor's degree is not in nursing must have a Master's degree is nursing.
    Experience

    Four Years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role.

    License/Certification/Registration
    Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
    BLS certification
    Preferred
    Education
    Master's Degree in Nursing
    License/Certification/Registration
    ANCC or AONL Certification
