- Serves as the program resource for resolving difficult or complex accounting situations.
- Reviews cases for accuracy and assists Child Support Accounting Technicians in strategizing complex or difficult situations.
- Provides clients, staff, public and collateral agencies with information regarding program and division services; responds to client inquiries and complaints.
- Compiles and prepares statistical records and reports.
- Oversees and provides coverage to maintain continuous services.
- Allocates and distributes child support payments; maintenance of child support financial ledgers.
- Think critically, problem solve, and have strong math and accounting skills.
- Have experience using word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Analyze and understand Child Support, Statutes, procedures, Rules and Regulations.
- Read and understand legal documents such as orders, judgments, and liens on property.
- Use excellent interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to de-escalate communications with difficult clients.
- Have regular and predictable attendance.
- Three (3) years of experience maintaining financial and statistical records in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.

Within BCS, this position will be part of the Child Support Services team.
Child Support Services works with parents and caretakers to make sure all Colorado children get the financial support they need to thrive.
The Senior Accounting Technician performs complex and specialized accounting duties requiring a thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and public accounting procedures in addition to knowledge of Child Support specific accounting and allocation practices.
This position acts as a subject matter expert on Colorado Statutes and Regulations pertaining to Child Support and the allocation and distribution of Child Support Payments.
The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.This is a hybrid position that allows working from home, and requires at least one day per week in the office.
