Position Highlights:

  • Position: Research Assistant-Summer Extern
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time
  • Hours: Standard Business hours, Mon-Fri

What you will do:

  • Research and collects data through complex techniques and procedures, library research, structured interviews, or other project specific methodology.
  • Interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data.
  • Schedules, organizes, and reports on status of research activities.
  • Plans and modifies research techniques, procedures, tests, equipment, or software management.
  • Writes and edits materials for publication and presentation.
  • Meets with faculty supervisor on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the quality of the assistant's performance.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Gain experience in observing perioperative clinical medicine in the operating room, intensive care, and pain medicine clinic.

What you will need:

  • The student must be enrolled in or completed an undergraduate degree.
  • The student should have prior experience in medical research or an interest in clinical based medical care.
  • The student needs the ability to work independently, accurately, and to problem solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research.
  • The student must be able to be proficient in Microsoft office programs.
  • The student will be expected to complete CITI Training and any other training related to NorthShore's IRB expectations prior to being involved with research.
  • The student will be expected to follow all health and safety protocols as designated by the NorthShore University HealthSystem Employee Health. All vaccinations are required to be up to date. The student will need to provide proof of vaccination prior to initiation of employment.
